The stitch has been handed down from generation to generation. It can be traced back to before the United States won independence from Great Britain. |

Combine a running stitch, a top stitch, and embroider flowers and the word remember all around the outside border. Use special fabrics that hold many memories and it will be a wonderful keepsake. Square Dance - A pattern from Mountain Patchwork. This double stitch pattern can be done almost all by hand, no sewing machine required except to bind. The quilting stitch is a warm, primitive stich, not a fine hand quilting stitch. Mountain Patchwork promotes hand stitching but realize many will want to use their machines. They suggest a compromise. Use your machine but do the top stitch by hand for that warm primitive feel. The full size quilt of 20 blocks is approx. 72 x 87 inches. |
