Mettler Thread: 60 wt. Mercerized, long staple Egyptian Cotton

This 60 weight fine thread is 100% mercerized, long staple Egyptian cotton. Each spool has 219 yards and is 2 ply with a silk finish. This is an excellent choice for hand and machine applique, fine sewing, embroidery, and machine quilting. It makes a beautiful satin stitch. Some quilter's use it for piecing because there is less bulk at the seams, and that means a more accurate sized block. Stretch your dollar and save your silk thread by using your silk on top and the Mettler 60/2 embroidery thread in your bobbin. This recommendation comes from renowned quilter, Diane Gaudynski.
